RE: “Where do they go?” asks Matt Lee of the Associated Press

Dear President Biden,

Matt Lee asked US State Department spokesperson Ned Price the same question ten different times last week. Price had no coherent answer to any of those questions because the US State Department policy does not demonstrate a support for the basic human rights of the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Gaza, and in Israel itself.

UN Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield has stated that people are not allowed to boycott for basic Palestinian rights because that non-violent action is antisemitic.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently stated that the International Criminal Court has no jurisdiction over Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians: a second non-violent action for the Palestinians that the US Government refuses to support.

At every turn the United States continues its cruel and mindless policy of giving carte blanche political protection to Israel in fora like the United Nations and the ICC.

2020 saw a significant increase in Israel’s illegal demolition of Palestinian homes in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This is just one of Israel’s daily brutal measures against the indigenous people of Palestine.

The 6 million plus Palestinians, in what was called Palestine until 1948, aren’t going anywhere. American complicity in Israel’s war crimes will only make things worse for Israelis, Americans and Palestinians.

Respectfully,

Thomas C. Welch
